Hops for Harmony
Molly Moberg Miller, Patrick Sullivan, Angela Forss Schmit and Timothy Buckley enjoyed the sights, sounds and flavors of the 15th Annual Hops for Harmony at Werner Park on June 8. The event is a benefit for Project Harmony presented by the Papillion Area Lions Club. Project Harmony exists to provide effective, sensitive and immediate support to children who are victims of abuse and neglect.
Midlands Community Foundation Golf Tournament
On May 16, Patrick Sullivan and his daughter, Sarah, participated in the Midlands Community Foundation Golf Tournament at Platteview Country Club. The benefit raised more than $42,000 for Heartland Family Service’s Safe Haven Shelter for battered and abused women and children, and Special Olympics Nebraska.
Arbor Day Open
Timothy Buckley took part in the annual Arbor Day Open golf tournament on April 29. The unofficial event brings together attorneys and judges for networking and goodwill on the greens at Platteview Country Club.
19th Annual Cattlemen’s Ball
Patrick Sullivan attended the 19th annual Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska activities June 3 and 4. This year’s event was hosted at the Lienetics Ranch by Princeton, Neb. and included a concert by legendary entertainer Clint Black. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $13 million for cancer research in Nebraska. This year’s proceeds were donated to the Fred &Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.
Shamrock Omega Open Tri-Ball Tournament
Attorney Molly Moberg Miller took part in the Shamrock Omega Open – Tri-Ball Volleyball Tournament held May 7. The event was put together by Mustaches 4 Kids Omaha to raise money for Youth Emergency Services (YES), a local charity serving homeless and at-risk youth by providing critically needed resources, empowering them to become self-sufficient. The tournament raised $2,200.
Vietnam Veterans Honor Flight pre-flight Dinner
On June 5, Patrick Sullivan attended the Vietnam Veterans Honor Flight pre-flight Dinner at the Embassy Suites, La Vista. The event was coordinated by Patriotic Productions and included music by the Greg Spevak Orchestra and an uplifting, patriotic program to honor the veterans participating in the Honor Flight.
Sullivan Named Merit Commission Chairman
Patrick Sullivan has been named Chairman of the Sarpy County Merit Commission.
The merit commission is a five person board consisting of two deputies, a county commissioner and two citizens. The purpose of the commission it to ensure fair employment practices to attract the best candidates for law enforcement positions.
Mr. Sullivan has served on the commission since 2014.
I Have a Voice Gala
On March 12, Angela Forss Schmit attended the sixth annual I Have a Voice Gala benefitting GiGi’s Playhouse in Sioux City, Iowa. Ms. Schmit’s sister, Tiffani Johnson, a 22-year-old with Down syndrome, was the keynote speaker. GiGi’s Playhouse is an achievement center for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community offering therapeutic and educational programs that advance literacy, math and motor skills – at no cost to the individual or family.
Pheasants Forever National Conference
Molly Moberg Miller attended the Pheasants Forever National Conference in Kansas City, Mo., February 19 through 21. Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic focuses on wildlife conservation, upland pheasant and quail hunting, dog training and wildlife habitat management and restoration. In addition, Pheasants Forever holds seminars on habitat improvement, pheasant hunting, shooting sports and more.
Sarpy County Chamber’s “Grand Giveaway”
On March 10, Patrick Sullivan, Molly Moberg Miller and Timothy Buckley attended the 21st Annual Grand Giveaway auction and dinner. The event is sponsored by the Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce; proceeds defray the cost of memberships and also fund free networking events. This year’s event had a pirate theme.
Swearing In Ceremony of Judge Max Kelch
The attorneys of Adams & Sullivan – Patrick Sullivan, Timothy Buckley, C.G. “Dooley” Jolly, Angela Forss Schmidt and Molly Moberg Miller – attended the Nebraska Supreme Court swearing in ceremony of Judge Max Kelch on March 11. The ceremony took place at the state capitol. Judge Kelch is the representative for the judicial district that covers parts of Douglas and Sarpy Counties.
National Business Institute
Timothy J. Buckley served as a faculty member for the National Business Institute’s Estate Administration from Start to Finish workshop on March 21. Mr. Buckley presented on “Distribution and Closing of the Estate” and “Ethics and Estate Administration.” The course is designed for attorneys who are new to estate administration or need a basic refresher.
Iowa Miss Amazing Pageant
Angela Forss Schmit attended the Iowa Miss Amazing Pageant on January 29 and 30. The purpose of Miss Amazing is to provide an opportunity for girls and women with disabilities to build confidence through an encouraging and supportive pageant. The Iowa Miss Amazing pageant was held at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs.
Sullivan Represents Local Land Brokerage Company in Major Merger
Strictly Business Magazine: Patrick Sullivan of Adams & Sullivan, P.C., L.L.O. Attorneys at Law recently completed a major, national business transaction by representing land brokerage, Land Pros Reality and its president, Aaron Graham, in a merger with National Land Realty. (Read More)

Midlands Community Ball
On January 16, Pat and Kathy Sullivan attended the Midlands Community Foundation Reflection Ball. The ball is an important social and fundraising event for Sarpy and Cass counties. Business and community leaders as well as friends of the foundation gather for this charity ball, which includes a formal dinner and dance. This year’s event was held at the Embassy Suites – La Vista.
Nebraska Orthopedic Hospital Ball
Molly Miller attended the Nebraska Orthopedic Hospital Ball on January 9. The formal event was held at the Century Link Center and included drinks, dinner, a comedian and dancing.
Holiday Events
Adams & Sullivan staff members attended several holiday functions for professional organizations during December, including events sponsored by the Omaha Barristers Club, the Sarpy County Bar Association and the Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce.
